Shelter and Non-Food Items (NFIs)

Overview

The Shelter and NFI program provide life-saving emergency assistance and dignified shelter solutions for populations affected by conflict, disasters, and displacement. KARDO AID supports internally displaced persons (IDPs), and vulnerable households with essential shelter materials and household items.

Objectives

  • Provide immediate shelter support to displaced and crisis-affected populations.
  • Improve living conditions and dignity for vulnerable households.
  • Support recovery and stabilization after emergencies.
  • Enhance protection and safety for IDPs and marginalized groups.

Key Activities

  • Distribution of emergency shelter kits (tarpaulins, poles, mats, blankets).
  • Provision of non-food items (kitchen sets, bedding, hygiene supplies).
  • Temporary shelter construction in IDP settlements.
  • Support to transitional and semi-permanent shelter solutions.
  • Rehabilitation of damaged shelters after floods or conflict.
  • Coordination with local authorities for settlement planning support.
